We encourage eighth grade students to volunteer in their communities.  Students are invited to log volunteer hours using the designated Google form (please see below).  Paper forms are also available in the main office. 

> Parents, you also have access to these forms, and can submit hours for your child.  Barstow staff will total volunteer hours on May 15.

> Students who have volunteered for a minimum total of 10 hours during the 2022-2023 school year will receive a commemorative pin and acknowledgement at the graduation ceremony in June.

> These volunteer hours can be through the school, your place of worship, organizations outside of school, your neighborhood, your family, etc.  Barstow staff will be sharing opportunities with students as we are made aware of them and students are also encouraged to go out and find their own ways to give back to the community.

Please note that this opportunity is open to all eighth graders.  Anyone who reaches the minimum volunteer hours will be recognized at our graduation ceremony; it is not a competition nor is it a requirement for graduation.
