Model UN

Congratulations to former Barstow students Ardan Niering, Dietrich Caler, Evangeline Taylor, Joshua Kay, Martha Cotter, Paige Harned, and Leo Pond. They represent seven out of the twelve students that Rutland High School took to New York City for their Model United Nations program this year. It is great to see former students work tirelessly to represent our school and community in the best way possible, and we thank them for their dedication. These students represented the country of Denmark at the conference where they spent four days advocating for "their" nation on their respective issues. “Model U.N is a great program where students can develop leadership and negotiation skills, and I am proud of the group of students who went this year,” says current RHS junior, Leo Pond. Each student from Barstow has been representing our community proudly. Model United Nations involves months of preparation before the conference, and it prepares students to negotiate, communicate, and advocate for the perspectives of their country. Rutland High School only takes a select group of students each year, based on the distinction and excellence of their admissions essay. We’re so proud of you all.  Great job!
