The Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union School Board announces the appointment of a new superintendent to replace retiring Superintendent Jeanné Collins in July. Dr. Kristin Hubert has accepted the position. Dr. Hubert has served as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the past three years for the supervisory union.
RNESU Board Chair, Laurie Bertrand commented that “We are very excited that Kristin will be our next superintendent. She has done a phenomenal job of leading our curriculum and assessment program for the past three years, particularly during COVID and the switch to remote learning. She is familiar with our communities and our staff and students and will bring continued stability to our district as we continue to evolve in our focus on student achievement.”
Prior to this position, Dr. Hubert served as teaching faculty at the Upper Valley Institute focused on supporting new and aspiring principals, as elementary principal for 13 years in Rutland and Arlington and as an elementary teacher in Fair Haven. Dr. Hubert was named the National Distinguished Elementary Principal in 2016 and has served in a number of state level committees, including the VT Principal Association, VT Equity Practitioners Network, VT Equity Advisory Group and the VT Curriculum Leaders Advisory Board. Currently also teaching as adjunct faculty in principal preparation at Castleton University, Dr. Hubert has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Elementary Education from the University of Vermont, Masters of Art in Educational Leadership from Castleton University, and an Educational Doctorate in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Leading from Northeastern University.

Dr. Hubert will begin the position as Superintendent of RNESU on July 1, 2022.
